The Importance of Nutrition
Simply put, our bodies are made of water, proteins, fats and a conglomeration of minerals and other nutritive (vitamins, essential fatty acids, antioxidants etc...) chemical compounds found in foods we eat and chemical compounds the body makes from the foods we eat.
The carbohydrates, proteins and fats we eat should contain naturally occurring vitamins, minerals, enzymes, essential fatty acids, fiber, amino acids, antioxidants and other phytonutrients. It is a scientific fact that processed and refined foods fall dramatically short in supplying the health promoting building blocks of health.
A person that has gone through life consuming a majority of processed and refined foods will more than likely develop illnesses that highly impact their quality of life and the longevity of their life. Even if they are taking an isolated or synthetic supplement , they can still suffer the consequences of a poor diet because these supplements are poorly absorbed by the body. In effect this causes the body to become nutrient bankrupt! Supplements should be avoided and Complements should be taken instead.
The Building Blocks of Health
Our bodies are highly dependent on fresh air, pure water, whole food nutrition, adequate activity, sunshine, relaxation, love and social involvement to maintain vibrant health. The standard American diet ( SAD) is primarily refined and processed foods. These foods are devoid of vitamins, minerals, essential fatty acids, enzymes, glyconutrients, fiber, probiotics and phytonutrients such as antioxidants which are required if you wish to have optimal health. You can't expect to foster good health much less vibrant health by living on the standard American diet. Just remember "Living Foods Create Life and Dead Foods Create Death" a diet of primarily dead foods is highly deficient in nutrients that support health. Over a period of years on the standard American diet the body slowly becomes ill and then diseased.
